Who we are?
Eshu Independent Ltd has been successfully providing training, conducting research and delivering services within the field of mental health for the last seven years.
We are based in London but also provide our services nationally commissioned primarily by the public, statutory, voluntary and community sector.
Although we are a private company limited by shares we identify as a Social Enterprise within the definition of these types of organisations provided in the government publication Social Enterprise: a strategy for success, the Government’s strategy for social enterprise, published in July 2002:
‘Businesses with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or in the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners.’
For many years we have provided free or heavily subsidised training courses to those who had no means of paying the fees for our programmes but were sufficiently motivated to learn.
The courses that we offer
We offer a number of learning opportunities for staff, carers and service users either as a select group or as a part of an interagency training programme. All of our courses can be found by visiting www.eshuindependent.co.uk or our online college https://eshu.myicourse.com
Courses for clinical staff are bespoke courses delivered by Clinicians currently working within the field of Mental Health (Consultant Psychiatrist, Counselling Psychologists, and Adult Mental Health Social Worker.

Our accredited courses have been designed to provide clear vocational pathways for those learners who do not have relevant qualifications in Health and Social Care and/or help the learner develop work skills.
We have entered the world of vocational training programmes and we believe that these types of learning opportunities demand some research attention. We are committed to making these programmes work well for the diverse group of learners that our organisation tends to engage.
We will use our blog to explore some of the issues inherent in teaching on a range of learning provision.
